Youth from the Make A Difference group, Girl Scout Troops 386, 2923, 322 and 2428, Boy Scout Pack 44 Weblo, 4 H Group Feed Lock Friends, Northwest Middle School and High School cheerleaders, along with family and friends of Sean gathered to wrap gifts for hundreds of students from Northwest Elementary School. With help from sisters of Sean Miller: Pam Knittel, Brenda Strickland and Rhonda Schackart. Friends and sponsors of the annual event: Union Mills, Don and Sandy Peters, Robin Valli family, Bud and Dawn Jenkins, Mrs. Maple, Mrs. South and Mary Delabar; the annual toy drive served hundreds of children in the Northwest local school district and 23 families with several children in the Bags of Hope program in the Clay school district.
The night began with a story, lesson of generosity, prayer for the families in Connecticut and followed with the gathering of toys, wrapping gifts, bell choir and cookies and punch. “The children were so excited to pick out gifts for children and seeing the excitement on their face as they wrapped each gift was priceless! We were very blessed this year with the help from several youth groups and leaders who came to give to others this Christmas season. This was my 17th year to hold the toy drive of which six of the past years have been in memory of my brother Sean who exuberated the joy of Christmas and giving to others. Sean would have been amazed yet humbled by the generosity of the children and youth who gathered at Northwest High School to make a difference in the lives children this Christmas season. A heartfelt thanks goes to all who helped bring smiles to the faces of hundreds of children.”
