The Southern Ohio All Breed Dog club has seen much advancement during 2012. In addition to offering dog training classes in Rally, Obedience, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Agility, Conformation, 4-H dog judging readiness and Therapy Dog Preparation twice a year, they have hosted AKC Dog Safety Presentations for 4-H clubs, Boy & Girl Scouts, elementary schools, public libraries, and Head Start locations: All free to the public. If you are interested in scheduling a dog safety presentation, simply contact the club.

In September the Southern Ohio All Breed Dog Club fulfilled the qualifications and became a UKC (United Kennel Club) licensed club. This licensure indicates that the club has met the entrance qualifications of the largest international, all-breed performance dog registry in the world. This is an accomplishment the club is very proud of.

The Southern Ohio All Breed Dog Club has furthered its initiative to promote responsible dog ownership and community service by offering Fun Matches, Dogs Day Out Events, Dog Shows, Educational Opportunities for the community, and Health Education for Dog Breeders. Additionally, the club has trained and evaluated several new registered therapy dog teams that are currently working in Nursing Homes as resident companions and in public libraries and elementary schools as ‘Tail Waggin’ Tutors,’ helping children become confident readers.

The SOABDC offers AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluating, Therapy Dog Evaluating and AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluating. All testing is given at a reduced rate for club members and all club members are eligible for free dog training classes. If you are interested in joining the club, scheduling a Dog Safety Presentation or Therapy Dog visits, or inquiring about training classes, please email the club at or visit their website You may also call (740)259-0007.
