GLOW Family Fest scheduled

The sky will be lit with excitement in South Webster, July 26-27, as Christ United Methodist Church brings families together during the GLOW Family Fest.

“GLOW stands for God’s Love Over the World,” explained Sam Peters, Pastor of South Webster Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC). “This event has something for the whole family. We have movies, concerts, comedians, food, games and a great time for fellowship and worship.”

On Friday, July 26, a variety of games will take place at 6 p.m. and then children can participate in creating a cardboard vehicle and attend the Kid Kardboard Kar Show.

“We will have large cardboard boxes for kids to get creative and make their own cars. Then we will show the Disney movie Cars in a drive-in movie, outdoor atmosphere at dusk,” Peters shared. “We will also have free food to be enjoyed during the show.”

On Saturday, July 27, the fun begins at noon with inflatables, dunk tank, games and free food. At 6 p.m. the opening act will include comedy improve with “Say What” Comedy improv team from Augusta, GA, then a concert with the Christian rock band SoulSong and a message from evangelist Tommy Wafford.

“Worship and learning comes in many different forms. We want families to have fun while learning God’s word and what better way than to have a variety of methods to enjoy,” he said.

On Sunday, July 28 a special outdoor worship service will take place at 9:30 a.m. and an outdoor concert with the band Unspoken will take place at 6 p.m.

“We genuinely care about the strength of the family. We want families to come out and enjoy our Family Fest and fellowship with us. We are certain it will be an exciting and enjoyable time for everyone,” he said.
