The rain of Saturday morning did not stop the annual River Days parade from taking place. It also did not stop many in the community from lining the route to watch.
Festival Chairman Trent Williams said the festival has been going great with steady attendance at most of the events.
“We had a good crowd Thursday night. We also had a good deal of people out Friday night but, we always have to contend with the football games that night. Things are going well,” Williams said. “Today (Saturday) is the big day of the festival. It’s looking like we may get a little wet but, we’ll march on.”
On Thursday night the Baby/Tiny/Little/Junior/Teen Miss River Days Pageant was held at the Vern Riffe Center For the Arts. The featured entertainment for the evening was Phil Dirt and The Dozers.
On Friday the featured entertainment for the evening was the Kentucky Headhunters.
Saturday’s activities included the 36th Annual Run for You Life 5 and 10k runs. A visiting queens luncheon was held along with the 5th Miss River Days Queens Pageant at the Vern Riffe Center For the Arts.
The group Restless Heart was the featured entertainment.
The festival continues through Monday. Activities on the schedule for Sunday, Sept. 1 include children’s activities from noon - 4 p.m. The United Way of Scioto and Adams Counties Ducky Derby will be held at noon on the Court Street Landing.
