The Counseling Center is set to host it’s 6th Annual Celebrity Chef Dinner and Auction on Tuesday, March 11 from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the SOMC Friends Center in Portsmouth.
The theme for this years event is, “Aloha, A Taste of the Tropics.”
The celebrity chefs for this years event include, Dr. Jonny and Taralyn Bernard, Mark Chepp and Charlotte Gordon, Steve and Beth Cuff, Mike and Beth Dunlap, Beth Haney and Ann Oberling, Dr. Terry and Jennifer Johnson, Lisa Knaff and Jordan Henson, Jo Anna Krohn and Traci Malony, Sarah Myers, Jason Sparks, Rhoni and Steve Rader.
According to event organizers Sarah Myers has competed on several cooking shows and will be making a cake in the shape of a roasted pig for the event.
Each of the chefs will be making desserts to complement the Hawaiian feast
The event will also feature a silent auction. raffles and live music from an island band.
The annual event is used as a fundraiser for Youth Outreach and Prevention.
When asked why the annual Celebrity Chef Dinner and Auction is a good thing, Clarence Parker, Youth Outreach and Prevention spokesman for The Counseling Center said, “it helps to support and provide funding for our summer outreach club program that provides opportunities for over 200 kids every summer. Also, the event has become a community highlight, people enjoy the fun, fellowship and the opportunity to make some donations to our kids.”
