Celebrity Dinner sees record attendance

The Counseling Center held it’s 6th Annual Celebrity Dinner and Auction on Tuesday, March 11, this years event was attended by more than 400 people, setting a record attendance level.

“As always we’ve had so many people who have made a big contribution to this event. This whole evening is dedicated to The Counseling Center’s Summer Youth Outreach Program so, every thing that happens will go to benefit the children who are apart of that program,” said Ed Hughes. CEO of Compass Community Health.

The theme for this years event was, “Aloha, A Taste of the Tropics.”

The celebrity chefs for this years event included, Dr. Jonny and Taralyn Bernard who prepared a Gourmet Banana Pudding Trifle, Mark Chepp and Charlotte Gordon who prepared a Hawaiian Chocolate Mousse,

Steve and Beth Cuff who prepared Hawaiian Pineapple/Guava Thumbprint Cookies, Mike and Beth Dunlap who prepared Hawaiian Paradise Popcorn, Beth Haney and Ann Oberling who prepared Pina Colada Gelato,

Dr. Terry and Jennifer Johnson who prepared Hawaiian Wedding Cakes, Lisa Knaff and Jordan Henson who prepared Hawaiian Fruity Delight Dessert Pizza, Jo Anna Krohn and Traci Malony who prepared Lava Fudge, Sarah Myers who prepared a cake, Jason Sparks who prepared Spam Delight. Rhoni and Steve Rader who prepared Pina Colada Cake Balls.

According to event organizers, Sarah Myers has competed on several cooking shows. For the event she made a cake in the shape of a roasted pig for the event. Before the cake was cut severs

The event also featured a silent auction, raffles, and live music from an island band.

“We are so grateful for the people that came out, we have a bigger event than we did last year 408 people packed the Friends Center, we sold out,” said Gina Collinsworth, Director Community Relations and Development, Compass Community Health and The Counseling Center, inc.
