As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following bridge replacement project in Scioto County.
SCI-TR99-4.81 (PID: 93983) – It is proposed to replace the structure over Turkey Creek on Township Road 99 (Mackletree Road) in Nile Township. The existing bridge is a single-span, steel beam bridge with a laminated timber deck, and it will be replaced with a modern structure on the existing alignment but with a slight shift in the roadway to partially straighten a curve. Approximately 0.574 acres of permanent right of way located in Shawnee State Park and Shawnee State Forest will be required for construction; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project.
Additional information regarding the proposed project, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
Written comments should be submitted by December 22, 2015, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
