PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts in collaboration with C*MAR Clothing are seeking entries for the first Vern Riffe After Hours event to be held at 8 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 28.
The entry is open to all students and local artists working in any medium or form of expression. Artists will be given the opportunity to display and sell their work. The main goal of the event is to create a further network of artists and interested viewers for Shawnee State University’s students and the Portsmouth community.
“There are a lot of talented artists in the community but many don’t get an opportunity to show their work,” said Joe Patti, Director of VRCFA. “Like the people at C*MAR Clothing, these artists are ambitious and working hard to promote themselves so we wanted to give everyone a forum to show, sell and talk about their work.”
Applications can be downloaded from the VRCFA website at http://vrcfa.com/seeking-entries-for-art-show/ and mailed to email@example.com. Artists need to submit three samples of their work by attaching images or including links in the e-mail with their application. Deadline for submission is Jan. 16. Upon acceptance of work, a $10 participation fee will be due by Jan. 25.
In addition to the art show, the After Hours event will include music and food.
