McDonald’s of the Tri-State area recently donated a total of $39,949 to local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) chapters as part of the Lovin’ for RMHC program. The donation was split evenly between RMHC of Southern West Virginia, located in Charleston, W.Va., and RMHC of the Tri-State, located in Huntington, W.Va.
The Lovin’ for RMHC Fundraiser allowed customers to purchase paper hearts for $1, $3, or $5 to be displayed in the restaurant. Customers were also encouraged to use #forRMHC in any social media posts about donating to the cause. The fundraiser was a national initiative to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provide a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. RMHC believes that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. To learn more about how you can help, visit www.rmhc.org or your local chapter website.
RMHC of Southern West Virginia is relocating from its current spot near CAMC Memorial Hospital to a new location next door to CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital. Families will soon be only steps away from their children receiving care at the facility. Construction of the new Ronald McDonald House in Charleston is funded entirely through public support.
