ODNR to Host Winter Hikes Throughout February


COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is offering several winter hikes in February as Ohioans explore more of the Buckeye State. Enjoy spending time outdoors and getting fit naturally during 2016. Stalking the Skunk Cabbage at Shawnee State Park – Meet in the lodge lobby at noon on Saturday, Feb. 27 and join us for a fun trip through Shawnee State Forest. Hikers will trek to Bear Lake in search of skunk cabbage, a plant that blooms through ice and snow. Dress in layers and wear waterproof boots.
