The Scioto Valley Volunteers Chapter, United States Daughters of 1812, is proud to announce the election of member Monica Karasek to the Office of State Librarian. Installation of the new U.S.D. 1812 State Officers was held at the One-Hundred and Fifteenth State Council held in Worthington, Ohio. Ms. Karasek is the Scioto Valley Volunteers Chapter Librarian/Social Media Officer. She is also an Organizing and Charter member of the SVV. Karasek created, and maintains, the Chapter’s online site and Facebook page. She reported that two posted SVV Chapter articles “have been picked up by the Preserving the War of 1812 Pensions Facebook page. In addition, she stated that “we have now reached places like Ireland, UK, Phillippines, Russia and New Zealand” to name a few.
