‘Goodies for our Good and Brave’…U.S.D. 1812 strikes again

On Tuesday, September 13th, the dedicated men and women of the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department were the honored guests of lunch provided by the Scioto Valley Volunteers (SVV) Chapter, United States Daughters of the War of 1812 Society. The “Goodies for our Good and Brave” campaign was initiated by the SVV for the purpose of recognizing the critical service of our communities’ law enforcement/first responders’ service organizations. The

Sheriff’s Department was the second recipient of the SVV’s ongoing initiative; the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Portsmouth Post having been

honored in April of this year.

On behalf of the SVV Chapter, President Gail Swick presented a “Certificate of Honor and Appreciation” to Sheriff Marty V. Donini, with Captain Robert Woodford, Captain Sean Sparks, Detectives Jody Conkel and Todd Miller

present.

SVV members Marilyn Schomburg, Ann Meyers and Mary Stewart coordinated the event. Please visit the Ohio Society U.S.D. 1812 website at www.ohiodaughters.org/ohio1812 for information regarding membership.
