Adair Lattimer, Associate Professor of Nursing at Shawnee State University, attended the National League of Nursing/Louisiana Teach Certified Nurse Educator Prep Course in Ruston, Louisiana.
The workshop was an intensive review to help nurse educators in preparing for the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) Examination. The purpose of the CNE Exam is to promote excellence in the advanced specialty role of the academic nurse educator. It communicates to students, peers and the academic and health care communities that the highest standards of excellence are being met.
CNE Certification recognizes the academic nurse educator’s specialized knowledge, skills, abilities and excellence in practice. It strengthens the use of core competencies of nurse educator practice and contributes to nurse educator’s professional development.
“I was very pleased to have been able to attend this workshop. Dr. Pat Mahoney did an excellent presentation of the core competencies and information needed to help prepare for the CNE Exam,” Lattimer said.
