River Bend House nourishes lives at national assisted living week block party

River Bend House Assisted Living, a Senior Lifestyle Community, hosted their Annual National Assisted Living Week Block Party. This gave a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers and the surrounding community. A raffle with various prizes donated by area businesses was held and proceeds were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Portsmouth Ambulance was on site providing food, face painting was provided by the Wheelersburg High School Key Club, and games were available for children.

National Assisted Living Week®, taking place Sept. 13-19, recognizes the unique individuals that reside in assisted living communities and the staff members that deliver care every day. This year’s theme, “Nourishing Life: Mindy, Body and Spirit” celebrates the countless ways assisted living caregivers nurture the whole resident. River Bend House kicked off National Assisted Living week with a proclamation by Mr. Jim Gill, Porter Township Trustee, Chairman.
