New Fundraising Opportunity


Ashland, KY – Ashland Town Center officials plan to restructure its holiday season, with a special focus on community awareness. For the first time, the mall will hold Magical Season of Giving, with various activities, programs and events planned for the holiday season. Kicking off the season, Cash for Your Magical Cause will allow forty local non-profit organizations to compete for cash prizes. Awards totaling $18,000 will be presented to the competing organizations, allowing them a much needed boost this holiday season.

Cash for Your Magical Cause will run from Monday, November 16 through Sunday, December 6. During this time, forty registered organizations will be competing in a receipt based competition which will allow shoppers to register their support for the organization of their choice. During this time, shoppers will present qualifying receipts to Guest Services. Every dollar spent on registered receipts will translate into one point. Points will be tracked throughout the three week competition, ultimately turning points into cash prizes for participating organizations. Mondays and Tuesdays are identified as “Double-Point Days,” and receipts from those select days earn the organization double points.

Points are updated weekly, and organizations can visit www.ashlandtowncenter.com or the Guest Services Center to check the organization rankings and all details and rules.

“Customers can also earn an Ashland Town Center American Express Gift Card by participating in the program,” stated Jaime Bloss, Marketing Director for Ashland Town Center. “Each receipt a customer redeems will equal one entry.” Each week a winner will be chosen to win a $25 American Express Gift Card from Ashland Town Center. “Three winners will be chosen and notified by phone or email,” stated Bloss.

Cash for Your Magical Cause will be limited to the first forty groups that apply and meet general requirements. Interested groups must be a local school affiliated group or a registered 501(c)3 and be able to provide necessary documentation per the application. All registered organizations will win a cash prize at the end of the program. Organizations must submit an official application and supporting documentation no later than October 16, 2015. “Cash for Your Magical Cause is our way of contributing to the financial needs of our local charities that are involved in making the lives of people in our community better all year long,” said Bloss. “If someone purchases $100 worth of merchandise, they get 100 points toward their favorite non-profit organization. They get exactly what they pay for, and the organization receives points for their purchase.”
