Big Sandy Superstore, a Top 100 Home Furnishings Retailer, based in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, has announced the results of its latest Charity Challenge, held in late August. The Charity Challenge is a discount for donations event which Big Sandy Superstore hosted in August wherein customers could make a donation to support flood relief efforts, via the American Red Cross, and receive a corresponding discount off of their purchase. “We are always looking for opportunities to give back to our communities.” said CEO Robert Vanhoose. “We had our Charity Challenge planned for August. The timeliness of that event, coupled with the devastating flooding that many had just went through, made sense to team up with the Red Cross and dedicate the funds raised to help those affected.” Dan Evans, director of marketing for Big Sandy Superstore said, “August, during the two previous years, we have held similar challenges, raising nearly $20,000 for charities.” Evans continued, “During this year’s five-day event we collected almost $12,000 for the Red Cross, to benefit the victims of the summer storms and flooding!” Big Sandy Superstore is planning to hold additional Charity Challenges in 2016.
