Main Street Portsmouth to Boneyfiddle Fall-O-Ween Festival
Main Street Portsmouth will host its first Boneyfiddle Fall-O-Ween Festival on October 19, 2013. The Boneyfiddle Fall-O-Ween Festival will take place in downtown Portsmouth and historic Boneyfiddle areas with 26 merchants participating.
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and lasts until 8:00 p.m. Activities include Trick-or-Treat the Shops, hay rides, live music and food, games, face painting, inflatables, dog rally and agility demos, Spooky Pooch Pet Parade, as well as adult, child, and pet costume contests.
The Trick-or-Treat the Shops will be from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Port City Café & Pub will be the starting point where walking maps will be available. Pre-registration for Spooky Pooch Pet Parade is $1.00 or $2.00 the day of the event. Registration and assembling for the parade will take place at Smith’s Pharmacy 745 2nd Street from 4:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. From there the parade will proceed down 2nd Street where we will stop at Market Street Square. Adult and child costume contests will take place in front of Ghost-in-the-Attic 518 2nd Street from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cash prizes will be awarded.
The Boneyfiddle Fall-O-Ween Festival is an event that allows the public to rediscover the uniqueness of small businesses through fun activities. Each participating merchant will be offering some type of candy-themed product, kids activity, giveaway, or special. The Fall-O-Ween Trick-or-Treat the Shops will include merchants on Chillicothe, Market, and Second Streets.
“This will be Main Street Portsmouth’s first time to put together a fall festival,” says Main Street Portsmouth Director Sarah Surina. “It’ll be a safe, fun place for the whole family to hang out, including your four legged family member.”
