Northwest Library Branch Temporarily Closed for Building Repairs

Due to maintenance and building repairs, the Northwest branch will be

closed temporarily through the end of October.

To continue service to our patrons, the Bookmobile will be at the

Northwest branch parking lot from 10am to 4pm every Friday in October.

Library materials may be returned to the Northwest bookdrop, the

Bookmobile or to any library location. Patrons with holds through the

Northwest branch will be contacted to select an alternate pick-up


Kids’ Events Announced

All-Day Grab Bag Craft

The New Boston and South Webster locations will be offering a free all-day grab bag craft for tweens between the ages of 7 and 12. Each tween will receive a bag that contains material to make their own robot out of cans.

Despicable Me Party for Kids

Kids 12 and under are invited to join us at the South Webster location for games and despicably fun crafts on October 29 at 4pm.

Halloween Craft

Kids, 12 and under, are invited to the Portsmouth location for a Halloween craft program October 29 at 6pm. Come join the fun as we make several crafts to take home and enjoy. For more information about this program call 354-5562 or visit our website www.yourppl.org.

Children’s Sign Language Class

The Children Sign Language Class will be meeting at the Portsmouth library location November 1 at 3:30pm. Call 354-5688 for more information.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors

Certified Therapy Dogs from the Southern Ohio All Breed Dog Club (and their owners) will be at various library locations. The dogs will be available to listen to any young reader wishing to practice their skills.

At Lucasville-Fridays from 3-5pm and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month

Portsmouth- 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 2-4pm

Upcoming Adult/Teen Activities Announced


The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting its Yoga group at 10am in the Copley Meeting Room on Tuesday, October 29.

Scrapbook Party

The South Webster Branch will be hosting a Scrapbooking class from 5:30-7:30 pm October 29. Those attending will be learning the art of scrapbooking. Space is limited. A fee of $5 will be charged to cover

the cost of materials. Pre-registration is required. For more information, call the South Webster Library at 778-2122.

Teen Halloween Party

Wheelersburg Non-fiction Book Club

The Wheelersburg Non-fiction Book Group will be meeting Tuesday, October 29 at 5:30pm at the Wheelersburg branch library.

Book Sale Drawing

In October, win a recycled book craft. Each time you purchase any item from the daily book sale, your name will be entered into a drawing.

Monthly Media Trivia

Every month PPL offers a new media themed trivia. Play trivia each month to be entered to win the corresponding “books into movies” prize!

Crispie Creme Drawing

Each week PPL offers a chance to win a gift certificate from Mrs. Renison’s Crispie Creme. Check out music CDs to be entered into the weekly drawings.
