The Counseling Center, Inc. announces the retirement of Vice President of Integrated Services Rick Calvin.
Compass CEO Ed Hughes explains, “Rick Calvin has been a mainstay for The Counseling Center since 1989. Rick joined me at TCC as the Clinical Director in 1989, when the agency was a small outpatient program. Rick has provided the leadership for our clinical services through all our growth and development. He has trained and supervised numerous staff, some of whom have risen to levels of leadership themselves. But, most importantly, Rick has always been our “guiding light” in terms of maintaining our focus on the client, the individual and family who is suffering from addiction. He has provided that consistent and constant reminder that we here to help people recover, and we must always be looking to improve our skills and our programs in order to meet the needs of the next person we serve. You do not replace a Rick Calvin. You cherish his devotion, wisdom and service and hold these qualities up for each staff person to aspire.”
Rick says he will enjoy spending time travelling to visit his family, as well as keeping up with his favorite sports team the Cincinnati Reds.
Compass Community Health Announces Executive Level Promotions and Hires
Compass Community Health, parent organization of The Counseling Center, Inc., Compass Point Housing and Compass Community Health Care Center, is pleased to announce the following executive level promotions and hires within the three integrated helping agencies.
Craig Gullion became the Executive Director of Compass Point Housing at the end of January and joins the company with extensive experience in management and business development. His previous work experience includes over twenty years at Lute Supply, where he held several positions including Vice President. Most recently he worked at Glockner Oil Co. in Piketon, Ohio.
Craig states, “My experience in business development and operations has equipped me to lead Compass Point Housing as a separate, yet vital piece of our organization. Our primary goal is to provide safe, low-cost, energy efficient housing solutions for our clients.”
Craig has one daughter and two sons, the youngest being a junior in high school, and one grandson. Craig attends Rubyville Community Church and likes to spend time watching and playing sports.
Sarah Hood, LPCC has been promoted to Director of Operations for The Counseling Center, Inc. Sarah has worked for TCC since 2010. Sarah originally joined TCC as an intern and was soon hired as a Mental Health Counselor. Later, under Sarah’s leadership as Program Coordinator, the women’s outpatient program flourished.
In her new role, Sarah is responsible for day-to-day operational decisions, supervising the admissions director and clerical department, and developing and implementing processes and changes to make The Counseling Center, Inc. more efficient.
Sarah resides in Waverly with her husband and 22-month old twin daughters.
Andrea Queen, LCDC II has accepted the position of Admissions Director. Andrea has been with TCC for the past 7 years. She began at Hopeworks in 2007, and later worked as a Specialist in the Jail Diversion program. Andrea worked as an AOD Counselor for Scioto County Outpatient and afterward St. Lucy’s from 2010 until 2013. She then became the Jail Diversion Coordinator, working closely with the court system while also representing TCC in presentations throughout Southern Ohio to recruitment referral sources.
Since January, Andrea has acted as the Interim Admissions Director and in that time the department has done exceedingly well in recruiting referral sources as well as keeping TCC’s programs at full capacity.
Andrea is a mother of three and enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
The Counseling Center is pleased to announce that Matt Cline has accepted the position of Director of Recovery Support Services. Matt has been employed at TCC for 11 years. He joined the agency in 2002 as the Sales Manager at Hopeworks. He also held the positions of Production Supervisor and Manager at Hopeworks. In 2012, Matt became the Facility Manager at Stepping Stones House. While in that role, Matt was responsible for supervising residential/childcare staff and facility operations. Matt will provide leadership in the new Recovery Support Services program focusing on providing quality recovery support to clients in housing.
Matt resides in Lucasville with his wife and three children. He enjoys being active with his kids and is an avid fisherman.
Tom Marsh, LISW, has been selected to provide behavioral health integration services to patients of Compass Community Health Care Center (CCHCC). Tom is returning to work at The Counseling Center after spending time living in New Zealand.
Initial plans call for Tom to provide services at The Counseling Center, Inc. and CCHCC. He will be a resource to the primary health care medical providers for referrals of patients who are struggling with mental health and other health issues, such as smoking cessation, eating disorders, anxiety, as well as alcohol and other drug addictions.
Brad Uhl was recently promoted from Maintenance to Facilities Manager for Compass Community Health and The Counseling Center, Inc. Brad has been with the organization since 2005, beginning as an IT system analyst, before moving to Maintenance.
Since assuming his new position, Brad played a large role in renovating the Crisis Center and the new Stepping Stone outpatient location, formerly the HopeWorks building. Brad’s ingenuity has lead to creative solutions within the agency. Brad states that his focus is on maintaining and updating facilities while keeping client needs in mind.
Brad has three children and enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, and playing music.
Compass Community Health is pleased to announce the addition of Erin M. Trapp to our team. Erin began her newly created position at Compass Community Health Care Center on January 21, 2014, stepping into the position of Clinical Nurse Manager. Erin will be instrumental in helping to expand integrated health care services to the community. She will be implementing efficiencies and ensuring compliance with clinical and safety protocols, which will translate into the highest quality of patient care, as Compass Community Health Care Center continues to grow their mission of serving everyone in the community with a family style medical practice.
Prior to joining CCHCC, Erin was the nurse manager of radiation oncology at Adena Cancer Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. In her new role, Erin will be assisting Compass Medical Director Dr. Terry Johnson, and program manager Sonie Hash, with establishing care coordination, quality improvement, and monitoring protocols to ensure the best clinical treatment decisions and outcomes for patients.
Erin is a licensed RN and ADN, currently completing a BSN at Wright State University, Dayton. Erin resides in Rosemount, with her husband, Mark and two children, Kyle and Brianna.
