Motorists should watch for drop-offs and narrow travel lanes on KY 784 in southern Greenup County as state highway crews continue to replace culverts and make other repairs.

Work will be ongoing through Friday, with daytime closures of the roadway from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. about halfway between KY 1 and KY 2 in the Samaria area – the work site is at the 5.7 mile marker between Elton Smith Road and Harlow Hollow. The roadway will reopen at night but it will be one lane controlled by temporary signals. Part of the lane is dug out, so motorists should slow down and heed warning signs to prevent drop-offs.

All through traffic on KY 784 should reroute using KY 2 or KY 1 in Greenup County or KY 7 and the AA Highway in Carter County during closure times.

Motorists should also expect work in the KY 784 area the next several weeks, with traffic controlled by flaggers at times.
