New Boston Homemaker’s Club Minutes

June 12, 2014

The New Boston Homemakers and Community Education Club met Thursday, June 12 at Rosella Riepenhoff’s home.

Rosella, President, opened the meeting. Irene Duffany led the pledge and Janet Riepenhoff led the creed. Eleven members answered roll call. Janet collected the Sunshine Fund.

Due to the absence of the secretary, no report was given.

Janet gave the treasurer’s report. Vanessa Fowler made the motion to accept minutes as read; Janet Riepenhoff seconded. Motion carried.

Devotions were given by Irene “When You Don’t Know What to Say” and Karen Chaffin “When I’m Gone.” Janice Tomlin will have July devotions.

Karen gave a report on the Homemaker’s Retreat July 20 – 23 at Canter’s Cave in Jackson, OH. The cost is $110 for Early birds, $99 for fulltime, $33 for one day, and a fee of $11 for just one meal. There is an additional $25 for those who aren’t paying for meals. Crafts to be done include a snowman picture, log cabin oil painting on paper, fishbowl snowman, house picture, angel ornament, apple with a poem, pillow case doll, CD fish, hummingbird pine cone, tie sling, covered boxes, and candy cane sled. The cost of these crafts range from no cost to $13.

Celebrate the Holiday will be November 18. The theme is Peace on Earth. Alberta Potters has the placemats and card boxes with candy inside will be the table favors. Finger food will be served. Janice Tomlin made the motion to accept this plan; Irene Duffany seconded. Motion carried.

The next meeting will be July 10 at 11:00 am at Rosellla’s home.
