The Clay Alumni honored the memory of David Ray Richard and Fred F. Reeder at their recent alumni banquet by presenting plaques to Nola Richard, wife of David and to Scheryl Reeder, wife of Fred.
President of the Clay Alumni, Charles T. Leonard, gave high praise to David Richard, who served as Treasurer of the Clay Alumni for twelve years. David Richard died October of 2013. Leonard said Richard was one of the most dedicated and loyal people he ever had the privilege of working with. He said Richard continued as Treasurer in spite of declining health and was always there whenever you needed his expertise and experience. Attending the tribute to David Richard were his wife, Nola and daughter Jeannie Richard Rucker and her husband Greg Rucker.
The Clay Alumni also paid tribute to the memory of longtime Vice-President Fred F. Reeder and recognized him for his dedicated service to the Clay Alumni. Fred Reeder died in May of 2014. President of the Clay Alumni, Charles T. Leonard stated that Reeder was not only a dedicated worker for the Clay Alumni, but a long-time friend and high school classmate. Leonard commended Reeder for his twenty year career in the US Army. Attending the tribute to Fred Reeder were his wife, Scheryl, grandson Bryan Dotson, his sister Joy Reeder Cordle and brother-in-law John Cordle.
Leonard presented a plaque to Nola Richard, wife of David Richard, and a plaque to Scheryl, wife of Fred Reeder to commemorate their years of loyal and devoted service that both David Richard and Fred Reeder had given to the Clay Alumni Association.
