Alumni Weekend planned at Shawnee State University

A full weekend is planned at Shawnee State University’s 2012 Alumni Weekend beginning Friday, Sep. 7 with a Bears Classic Golf Scramble and a chance to win $10,000 with a hole in one.

The weekend includes several events including a Men’s Basketball Alumni Game, Teacher Education 20th Birthday Party, Henna tattoos, Children’s Learning Center Open House, Alumni Zone with live music, Food and Beer Garden near the Smokestack and more.

The Golf Scramble kicks off Alumni Weekend at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept.7 at the Elks Country Club in McDermott and a chance to win $10,000 with the hole in one prize.

In the afternoon, on Saturday, Sept. 8 a Baseball Homerun Derby and Women’s Soccer game begin at 1 p.m. The Men’s Soccer game follows at 3 p.m. and an Alumni Soccer Game is at 5 p.m. An Alumni Mixer and a Family Pool Party begin at 6 p.m. in the James L. Rhodes Athletic Center.

On Sunday, SSU Women’s Basketball Kickoff Brunch fundraiser honoring Robin Hagen-Smith for 30 years of coaching will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All funds raised benefit Women’s Basketball, making possible enhanced recruitment, travel and equipment for the SSU Student athletes.
