Fabulous Friday Conference scheduled for child care providers

Shawnee State University has scheduled another “Fabulous Friday” for child care providers and early childhood educators from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5.

Dr. William Mosier, author and professor of Early Childhood Education at Wright State University, is the keynote speaker opening the conference at 8:30 a.m.

Mosier is a licensed marriage and family therapist, director of the Center for the Study of Child Development, and an ordained minister, pastoral counselor at the Unitarian Fellowship for World Peace, and pastor at Dayton Compassion Church serving refugees from Central Africa.

He is a diplomat in child psychology of the American Board of Psychological Specialties, the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists, and the American Board of Forensic Medicine.

Mosier has authored two books, numerous journal articles and book chapters and he is a frequent presenter at National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) conferences.

Numerous sessions are offered throughout the day on early childhood development, guidelines for young learners, behavior support and more.

Morning sessions are from 9 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. The prestigious Friend of Children Award will be presented at the luncheon from 11:50 a.m. to 1 p.m. The afternoon sessions will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Cost for the conference is $95 with discounts for college students and high school students. The cost for college students is $19.00 and for high school students the cost is $10.
