<p>Four alumni were inducted into Shawnee State University&#8217;s Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Jan.18 at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet. From left are Dan Grummitt (1996-1998), baseball player drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the only SSU player on MLB affiliated roster, reaching AAA level during the 2003 season; Becky Holden-Elkins, (1997-2002), the only student-athlete to play on five different varsity sports and holds Women&#8217;s Basketball career record for free-throw percentage (81.2 percent); Sarah Koehler Downing (2004-2007), the only women&#8217;s soccer player in program history to score 10 or more goals in every season; and Adam Davenport (2001-2005), who ranks fifth all-time basketball player making 110 starts in 126 games and two-time second-team All-AMC.</p>

Four alumni were inducted into Shawnee State University’s Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Jan.18 at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet. Rick Mayne, with local radio station WNXT, was emcee for the event.

The inductees were:

· Dan Grummitt (1996-1998), the fifth baseball player inducted into the Hall of Fame, he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the only SSU player on MLB affiliated roster, reaching AAA level during the 2003 season;

· Becky Holden-Elkins (1997-2002), was only student-athlete to play on five different varsity sports, first-team All-AMC in basketball (2001) and tennis (2002) and holds Women’s Basketball career record for free-throw percentage (81.2 percent);

· Sarah Koehler Downing (2004-2007), the first women’s soccer player inducted into Hall of Fame and the only player in program history to score 10 or more goals in every season; and

· Adam Davenport (2001-2005), sixth Men’s Basketball player inducted into Hall of Fame and ranks fifth all-time player making 110 starts in 126 games.

John Koustomer was named the sixth Ralph Kavanaugh Home Team award recipient. He is an active member of the Golden Bears and supported all 13 of Shawnee State’s varsity teams and traveled to several games to show support.
