The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or road closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. There are no lane restrictions or closures on the state or federal highway system due to construction or maintenance projects.
Construction for the Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement is under way, with work being conducted off affected roadways. There should be little to no impact to traffic; however, motorists are advised of equipment entering and exiting the work zone at the U.S. 23 viaduct in Kentucky, as well as in the downtown Ironton area. There are no lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction or maintenance projects.
A slip repair project has begun on S.R. 139 in Portsmouth. Crews are repairing a slip at the 1.20-mile marker, between Munn Street and T.R. 165 (Hinkley Hollow Road), just south of the corporation limit. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 9-foot lane with temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in early summer 2013. (#12-0566)
U.S. 52 is reduced to one lane in each direction for a bridge repair project at the C.R. 7 (Junior Furnace-Powellsville Road) overpass, between S.R. 253 and Haverhill-Ohio Furnace Road. C.R. 7 is reduced to one lane at the overpass, and traffic is being maintained with temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed by late Februrary, weather permitting.
