The Portsmouth Area Bicentennial Committee elected board members and officers for the 2013 planning year at the quarterly meeting held Jan. 23. The Bicentennial Committee is currently in the planning stages for the area’s celebration year, 2015.

Elected to the Board of Directors were: Luanne Valentine, Jim Saddler, Mark Morgan, Vicky Hatcher, Shawn Jordan, Lisa Carver, Becky Carver, Steve Rodeheffer, Dave Stone, Chip Maillet, Wayne Thompson and one vacant seat still remains.

Elected as officers for the 2013 planning year are: Dave Stone, president; Chip Maillet, vice president; Steve Rodefeffer, vice president of legal affairs; Wayne Thompson, treasurer and Shawn Jordan, secretary.

The planning committee currently meets quarterly at the Portsmouth Welcome Center with various committees meeting monthly to work on activities, events and exhibits for the 2015 celebration.
