Community of Christ


Community of Christ 2237 Russell Avenue West Portsmouth will honor their Heavenly Father and Earthly Fathers at their 10:30 a.m. Morning Worship Service on Father’s Day Sunday June 16. The weekly church theme of “Make Responsible Choices” will be developed by Priest Kim Green with Priest Carol McGraw in charge of music. The youth of the branch will participate in the service by presenting their own readings, words and gifts to the Fathers of the congregation. A Father’s Day Video will also be shown. On Sunday June 23 Elder Gwen Mason and Lorry Swain will continue their “Bless the Earth” ministry with the youth of the branch during Children’s Church which begins at 10:30 a.m.


First Church of Christ


The First Church of Christ, 1224 Dogwood Ridge, Wheelersburg, will honor all fathers during the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 16,


Members and guests of Christians On Local Tours (COLTS) will meet for lunch and their meeting at noon Tuesday, June 18, at Ponderosa, Ohio River Road, Wheelersburg.


Helping Hands, ladies group, will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Brammer’s home. Claudia Brammer will be the hostess, and Polly Willard will present the devotion.

Portsmouth First Church of Nazarene

Christ Brethren Church 5877 St. Rt. 139 will be holding services on Sunday June 16 starting with morning services at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening services at 7 p.m. A Wednesday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Everyone welcome with Bob Davis Pastor.

Salute to God and Country Parade


The Wheelersburg Christian Baptist Workers Auxiliary will sponsor the “Salute to God and Country Parade” on Saturday, June 29. The parade will begin at the backside of the Cornerstone Nazarene Church and will procede down Old Gallia Pike to the Christian Baptist campgrounds. Line-up in at 10:30 a.m. Floats will be judged on Originality, Theme, Art Work and Presentation. The first place float will be awared $100 and a trophy. Outdoor gospel sing will be in the afternoon. Lucasville Community of Christ


Lucasville Community of Christ, 1392 Thomas Hollow Rd, will open their services on Sunday, June 16 at 9:30 a.m,,with a short Sunday School worship, followed by a few minutes of fellowship, coffee/donuts. Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.


Worship Service begins at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Margie Lute presiding. The Theme for Sunday is “Make Responsible Choices” with Teacher Brandon Harbolt presenting the Morning Message.


There will be a Dedication Service on the front lawn of the church, after the morning services, in Memory of John Wolford. A Tree has been planted in his honor.


Wednesday Night Service - 6 p.m. Ladies Prayer Group - 2nd Wednesday of the month, and Adult Night Out - 3rd Monday of the month.

Power and Praise Tabernacle


Power and Praise Tabernacle, 1209 Young Street and SR 52 Portsmouth Ohio will be having a baby dedication on Sunday, June 23, 2013 in the afternoon service beginning at 2 p.m.


The dedication will be for babies one year and under, children 2-3 years and 4-5 years old. All mothers will receive a gift. There will be music, prayer and a special sermon for this occasion. Pastor William Knittel extends an invitation to anyone wishing to have their baby dedicated.

Book of Mormon Day for Children


Where - Christ’s Restoration Branch 585 Pine Line and Rt. 348, Lucasville, Ohio. When - Saturday June 22, 2013 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ages - Four years through high school adults are welcome.


There will be eight stations plus a market place will be setup outside on two acres. There will be stories, flannel graph, puppet ministry, living pictures, crafts, etc.


Lunch will be provided by the Church.
