Howard Millard Arthur, 90, of Rosemount died January 19, 2013 at SOMC Hospice.

He is survived by one sister, Helen Duncan of Rosemount, one brother Harold Arthur of Russellville, Ohio and one sister-in- law Rose Marie Stasko of New Springfield ,Ohio. Services were held on Saturday January 26, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Virginia officiating.

Loretta Maxine Bennett, 82, of Wheelersburg, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at Hospice of Ashland. She is survived by her husband Gene Bennett. She is also survived by one son, David Bennett and wife Cheryl, of Ashland; one daughter, Cathy Jennings and husband Dwight, of Sciotoville; three sisters, Virginia Schwamberger, of Wilmington, Ohio; Donna Lykins, of New Boston; Linda Lawson, of Portsmouth; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Acy Gibson officiating.

Alva Brickey

Alva Deek Brickey, 83, of Portsmouth died Thursday January 17, 2013 at SOMC Hospice. He is survived by his wife Doris Bricker Brickey three sons Charles (Babs) Brickey of Grove City, Daryl (Sharon) Brickey of West Portsmouth and Richard Brickey of Portsmouth eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three sisters Naomi Fife, Wayonna Brickey,Iona Brickey and one brother Nelson Brickey Jr. Services were held Saturday January 19,2013 at Melcher Funeral Home Burial.

Maralee B. Burling 70 of Portsmouth died Thursday January 19, 2013 at Hillview Retirement Center. Surviving are one son Jeff R. Burling and one brother R. Jeff Burling. Services were held Wednesday January 23, 2013 with Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating.

Betty Ann Hughes, 78, of New Boston died Jan. 16, 2013 at SOMC Hospice Center. She is survived by 2 sons, James (Linda) Hughes and Bradley Hughes all of Wheelersburg; 2 daughters, Paula Rase of Euless, TX. and Kimberly Bower of Port Clinton, OH.; 1 brother, Harold (Grace) Adams of Lucasville; 2 sisters, Helen Newton of Portsmouth and Janet Goddard of New Boston; 1 grandson, 5 granddaughters, step-grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston.

Helen Miller, 70, of Rubyville, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Max Miller; a daughter, Brenda Irelan and husband Earl of Lucasville; a sister, Ivory Hall of Portland, OR.; 2 brothers, Joe Rideout of Powellsville, John Rideout of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Services were held Friday Jan. 25, 2013 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans officiating.

Herman Porginski

Herman H. “Buzz” Porginski, 88, of Portsmouth, died Monday,January 21, 2013 at SOMC Hospice. He is survived by his wife Donna Cole Porginski, his children Tyler (Barbara) Porginski of Lucasville, Krista (David) Newman of West Portsmouth, grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were held Friday January 25, 2013 at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. David Young officiating.

Ruby Garnet Cantrell Prince, 92, of West Portsmouth, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at the River Bend House in Wheelersburg. Ruby is survived by one son, Arther Ray Prince of Columbus; two daughters, Deborah (Ken) Slish of Pittsburg, PA, Gayle Shinkle of West Portsmouth; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Adkins-Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Chris Wiseman officiating.

Robert Redoutey Sr.

1931-2013

Robert Lee Redoutey Sr., 81, of Portsmouth died Saturday January 19, 2013 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Surviving are his wife Josephine Calloway Redoutey; his children Diana (Steve) Rollins of Otway, Pamela (Larry)

Preston of Otway and Robert (Roxanne) Redoutey Jr. of Rubyville; and grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Services were Thursday January 24,2013 at Melcher Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Goodman officiating.

Marsha Stewart

Marsha Kay Stewart 52, of Portsmouth, died January 16, 2013 at her home. Marsha is survived by her husband, Roger; two sons, Dallas Stewart of Thailand, Travis (Katie) Stewart of Lucasville; two daughters, Kelly (Bucky) Spriggs of Stout, Leigh Stewart of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren and two sisters, Connie Keibler of Lloyd, KY, Rhonda Thompson of South Shore, KY. There will be no funeral services held. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Esther Strehle

Esther Ruth Strehle, 89, of Portsmouth, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Hill View Health Care. Esther is survived by two sisters-in-law, Ann Strehle and Beulah Strehle, both of Portsmouth; and several cousins. Services were held Thursday at St. John Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Richard North officiating.

Surviving are three sons, Clyde (Janie) Woodson of Detroit, MI, Dwight (Patricia) Woodson of Columbus, and Jerry R. Woodson of Portsmouth; two daughters, Delois Woodson and Helen (Tyrone) Adams, all of Portsmouth; a son-in-law, Donald Wesley of Flint, MI; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Evangelist Carolyn Germain officiating.
